Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod

Trinity Lutheran Church is part of the LCMS.
Being “Lutheran”, our congregation accepts and teaches the Bible-based teachings of Martin Luther that inspired the Reformation of the Christian Church in the 16th century. These teaching can be summarized in three short phrases: Grace Alone, Scripture Alone, Faith Alone.

Grace Alone — God loves the people of the world, even though they are sinful, rebel against Him and do not deserve His love. He sent Jesus, His Son, to love the unlovable and save the ungodly.

Faith Alone — By His suffering and death as the substitute for all people of all time, Jesus purchased and won forgiveness and eternal life for them. Those who hear this Good News and believe it have the eternal life that it offers. God creates faith in Christ and gives people forgiveness through Him.

Scripture Alone — The Bible is God's inerrant and infallible Word, in which He reveals His Law and His Gospel of salvation in Jesus Christ. It is the sole rule and norm for Christian doctrine.

Adapted from A Week in the Life of The Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not of  your own doing; It is the gift of God.  Ephesians 2:8 ESV

Baptism

In baptism, God pours out His grace and His Spirit on us. “…so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.” (Titus 3:7)

Holy Communion

Trinity practices a "closed" Communion. Click the picture above to learn more about communion.
Trinity celebrates the Sacrament of Holy Communion on the first and third Sundays.  We believe God gives us Holy Communion for the forgiveness of sins. (Matthew 26:26-28). All who share in unity our confession of the Christian faith (Matthew 26:20, 1 Corinthians 1:10, Acts 2:42) are encouraged to partake in Holy Communion provided they:
  • Have received Christian Baptism and instruction (Acts 2:36-44),
  • Recognize, confess and repent their sins (1 Corinthians 1:28, Proverbs 28:13; 1 John 1:8-9, 1 Corinthians 11:26-29)
  • Believe the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ are truly present, offered under forms of bread and wine   (1 Corinthians 10:16; 1 Corinthians 11:27-29)
Please visit with the pastor or a member of the lay ministry if you are planning to take part in communion and are not a member of the LCMS as we practice a "closed communion". The doctrine is summarized in Luther's Small Catechism. This does not imply that those of another faith are not Christians. Please click the picture above for more information.
